A vacuum pump refers to a device that uses mechanical, physical, chemical, or physicochemical methods to extract air from a container being extracted to obtain a vacuum. Generally speaking, a vacuum pump is a device that uses various methods to enhance, generate, and maintain vacuum in enclosed spaces. Due to the wide range of working pressure involved in the vacuum application department, no type of vacuum pump can be fully suitable for all working pressure ranges. Only different types of vacuum pumps can be used according to different working pressure ranges and working requirements. In order to promote the use and demand of various vacuum processes, multiple vacuum pumps are sometimes combined according to their performance requirements to form a vacuum unit suitable for the vacuum system.

1, The types of vacuum pumps are becoming increasingly diverse with the increasing demand for pressure ranges in the production and scientific research fields of vacuum technology. Most of them must be composed of several vacuum pumps to form a system to meet the requirements of scientific research and production processes. Common vacuum pumps include: dry screw vacuum pump, water ring pump, reciprocating pump, slide valve pump, rotary vane pump, Roots pump, and diffusion pump. These pumps are the main force in the application of vacuum pump technology in various pump industries of China's national economy.
2, The overall structure of a vacuum pump is divided into vertical structure and horizontal structure. Vertical structure: The intake and exhaust ports are placed horizontally, making it easy to install and connect pipes. However, the pump has a high center of gravity and poor stability during high-speed operation, so it is mainly used for small pumps. Horizontal structure: The inlet of the pump is at the top and the exhaust is at the bottom. Sometimes, in order to facilitate the installation and connection of vacuum system pipelines, the exhaust port can be connected horizontally, that is, the direction of the inlet and outlet are perpendicular to each other.
3, The transmission mode of the vacuum pump is that the two rotors of the vacuum pump perform relatively synchronous operations through a pair of high-precision gears. The drive shaft is connected to the motor through a coupling. There are two main types of transmission structure design: one is that the electric motor and gear are placed on the same side of the rotor.
Of course, this transmission method also has drawbacks: a. There are three bearings on the drive shaft, which increases the difficulty of processing and assembling the pump, and it is inconvenient to disassemble and adjust the gears; b. The overall structure is uneven, and the center of gravity of the pump leans towards the motor and gearbox sides.
