Maintenance of imported vacuum pumps: methods to prevent scaling of vacuum pumps

The main reason for vacuum pump scaling is that the water quality and operating temperature of the circulating water exceed certain indicators. Among water quality indicators, the hardness of water has the greatest impact. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the hardness of water as much as possible and control the working temperature of circulating water in order to solve the problem of scaling in vacuum pumps.

1. Temperature control of circulating cooling water
From the above analysis, it can be seen that the difference between the temperature of the water ring inside the vacuum pump and the water temperature of the softening water tank is an important factor leading to scaling. Therefore, increasing the circulating water supply and improving the cooling effect is an important guarantee to minimize the scaling rate to the greatest extent.

Therefore, during the operation of circulating cooling water, it is necessary to monitor the return water temperature and return water volume of each pump to ensure that the normal water supply and return water temperature of each pump do not exceed the specified 40 ℃. The water supply can be controlled by valves. If the return water temperature exceeds the specified limit, measures should be taken to supplement low-temperature cold water or use other cooling methods to reduce the temperature of the softened water in the softened water tank.
2. Hardness of circulating cooling water
The operation process of circulating water in a vacuum pump is extremely similar to the operation process of boiler water in a low-pressure hot water boiler. Therefore, managing the water quality of vacuum pumps according to the water quality standards of hot water boilers can prevent scaling and corrosion of vacuum pumps.
Most vacuum pump circulating water systems are open loop systems with a relatively high return water rate. When ion exchange equipment is not used for water treatment due to financial reasons, a softened water tank and a high-level water tank are generally used to supply water to the vacuum pump.
3. Regularly flush the pump body
The pump body drainage gate valve of the water ring vacuum pump is not only used for normal discharge of accumulated water inside the pump, but also can use the water pressure of the pump body to regularly flush the dirt and water residue inside the pump during operation. On the one hand, it can prevent the accumulation of dirt, and on the other hand, it can also prevent the transformation of water residue into scale.
The scaling problem of vacuum pumps has a complex generation mechanism, and correctly analyzing water quality indicators and operating parameters is the key to finding the correct preventive measures. In addition to water temperature control and regular flushing of the pump body, water treatment is the most important step in preventing scaling of the pump body.
