① Main pump: In a vacuum system, a vacuum pump used to obtain the required degree of vacuum.
② Coarse suction pump: a vacuum pump that starts from atmospheric pressure and reduces the pressure of the system until another suction system starts working.
③ Front stage pump: a vacuum pump used to maintain the front stage pressure of another pump below its maximum allowable front stage pressure. The front-end pump can also be used as a roughing pump.
④ Maintenance pump: In a vacuum system, when the pumping volume is very small, the main front-end pump cannot be effectively utilized.
For this purpose, a smaller capacity auxiliary front-end pump is configured in the vacuum system to maintain the normal operation of the main pump or to maintain the low pressure required for the evacuated container.
⑤ Coarse (low) vacuum pump: a vacuum pump that starts from atmospheric pressure, reduces container pressure, and operates in a low vacuum range.
⑥ High vacuum pump: a vacuum pump that operates within a high vacuum range.
⑦ Ultra high vacuum pump: a vacuum pump that operates in the ultra-high vacuum range.
⑧ Boosting pump: a vacuum pump installed between a high vacuum pump and a low vacuum pump, used to increase the pumping volume of the pumping system in the intermediate pressure range or reduce the capacity requirements of the preceding pump (such as mechanical boosting pumps and oil boosting pumps).
