Many customers may experience scale during the use of vacuum pumps, and the composition of scale in vacuum pumps is complex and the hardness varies. According to different components, it can be divided into silicate scale, carbonate scale, and sulfate scale. Among them, silicate scale is the hardest and difficult to remove, carbonate scale is relatively loose, and sulfate scale falls between the two. Due to the complex composition of scale, customers have limited professional knowledge and do not know how to handle it. Here, the editor shares the methods for removing scale from imported vacuum pumps. Currently, there are two main methods for treating scale, namely mechanical scale removal and chemical scale removal.

1. The mechanical descaling method is an extremely effective method for various types of scale, mainly by manually using tools to remove scale. The entire machine must be disassembled, preferably at the same time as the planned shutdown of the paper machine and the overhaul of the pump;
2. The chemical descaling method is achieved by injecting a chemical descaling agent into a vacuum pump to react chemically with the scale inside the pump. This first requires sampling and testing of the scale inside the vacuum pump, selecting appropriate descaling agents based on the composition of the scale, and many manufacturers are forced to use dilute acid to boil for 15-60 minutes for descaling.
Due to the decrease in suction rate of the vacuum pump after scaling, it has to some extent increased production costs and affected the normal operation of production. Therefore, how to properly remove scale from vacuum pumps and maintain their continuous and efficient operation is an important issue for all manufacturers.
